The recertification course is 8.5 hours in total, consisting of 4 hours of theory and 4.5 hours of practical training and evaluation, including required breaks and evaluation time.

Who this course is for?

  • Learners who would like to renew their existing Intermediate First Aid and CPR Level C with AED certification.

  • Participants whose current certification is eligible for recertification.

  • Individuals completing their first recertification cycle before being required to take the full Intermediate First Aid and CPR Level C with AED course again.

Recertification can only be completed once.

Individuals who already hold an Intermediate First Aid and CPR Level C with AED recertification certificate must complete the full Intermediate First Aid and CPR Level C with AED course during their next certification cycle.

Course Description

Intermediate First Aid and CPR Level C with AED Recertification provides participants with an opportunity to refresh, practise, and demonstrate the first aid and CPR competencies required for effective emergency response.

The course reinforces emergency scene assessment, activation of EMS, CPR and AED use, choking response, management of medical emergencies, bleeding and wound care, burns, soft tissue and musculoskeletal injuries, head and neck injuries, suspected spinal injuries, casualty monitoring, and transfer of care to EMS.

Participants are expected to demonstrate both theoretical knowledge and practical competency. Training emphasizes hands-on performance, realistic emergency scenarios, teamwork, communication, and appropriate decision-making.

The underlying Intermediate/Standard First Aid program is designed to build confidence and competence in managing a broad range of medical and trauma emergencies, with emphasis on teamwork, critical thinking, and hands-on practice.
